Rasayana Apple Porridge

I learned this recipe through one of my Ayurveda mentors. This makes a great breakfast especially during the colder seasons or have as a nurturing snack. This is a rasayana tonic, which is nourishing and replenishing for the body especially for those with Vata outstanding conditions. If preparing this as a dessert, indulge in your dessert first. Fruit digests much fast than other foods so it best consumed alone or apart from other meals. 

 

1 tsp Ghee

1 Peeled, Cored and Chopped Apple

2 tbsp Golden Raisins

2 Dates 

1/2 Cup Almond or Coconut Milk

1/2 tsp Fresh Grated Ginger Root

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tsp Cardamom 

1. Heat ghee in a small saucepan over medium heat.

2. Add all ingredients and cook over heat about 10 minutes until apples are soft.

3. Blend in blender and serve as a pudding.
